A few years ago, it developed a problem where it would fail and it required a manual reset on the boiler controller outside. I didn't know much about oil boilers back then. I have had a number of 'heating engineers' and so-called specialists to it but so far none have cured the problem.

Jan 24, 2012 · Hi there. We have a wallstar oil boiler. When it got very cold (-5 or so) we had problems with it firing up too. Turns out there was water in the oil tank (condensation, rainwater ingress etc) which froze and blocked the feed line. The boiler guy came out on just such an occasion and took a big plug of ice out of the filter.

Dec 27, 2013 · Hi, I have a HRM Wallstar 15/20 oil CH boiler that has had airlock/oil returning on itself problems in the oil pipe (the one inside the boiler casing, going to the boiler). The problems started following the yearly delivery of kerosene two weeks ago. I called my heating engineer who managed to get rid of the trapped air and serviced the boiler whilst he was there.
